How to Play

In the land of Vardos, only one artisan from each caravan may present a gift to the Empress at the annual Great Fair—a singular honor granted to the Traveler most admired and enriched by the journey.

Best suited for four players (but fully adaptable for three or five), invites players to join a single caravan travelling through a series of distant regions, each with its own needs, preferences, and treasures.

Each round, Travelers forage for rare Resources, serve demanding Customers, and manage the Patience of their hosts.
By crafting recipes, helping each other out, and navigating tough decisions as a group, players shape both the route the caravan takes through Vardos, and their destiny.

Behind the cooperation lies a quiet rivalry: each Traveler seeks to earn the most coins before the journey’s end.
When the Fair ends in the Capital, the Traveler with the most coins is chosen to present the Empress with a personal gift … and wins the game.

Customer Card: Noble, who pays well for all recipe tiers

Concerning AI Art

As you can probably see, the Vardos team has used AI art in the prototyping phase to fill in the illustrations necessary to lay out our cards and game board. We are not intending to keep any AI art long-term.Once we exit the prototyping phase, we will contract a human artist to replace these images. The AI art has helped us figure out what we want to do but we want the world of Vardos to have a soul. It is our staunch belief that any art, even a board game, needs a human touch to have soul.We felt it important to make this stance clear to our community early so there is no confusion on our intent and less surprise when all the art changes suddenly in the future. We look forward to showing you all what Vardos REALLY looks like in the future. Thank you for your continued support!
